made with 100% upcycled paperUpcycled #brewskibooks from Red Tail Bindery are made entirely from once-used paper materials. The covers are beer cartons whose primary purpose has been fulfilled; the filler paper is once-printed and picked from office recycle bins across the state of California. These paper products are sourced and sifted, cut to size, then stitched together with waxed hemp cord, by me in my basement workshop in Los Angeles, CA.These notebooks are not recycled. There are no reams of paper purchased in the making of #brewskibooks. They are UPcycled. The paper materials from which they are made were saved from the trash heap and reconfigured to make a whole new product out of those same materials. If they were not made into the notebooks you see pictured here, these paper products would be decomposing in a landfill.

Part of what makes #brewskibooks so cool, is that they are not mass-produced perfect: evidence of their past life remains. Beer carton covers may look somewhat different than those pictured, as I cut around water-damaged or crunched portions to get the most pristine piece of paperboard possible. In the case of the filler paper, some of the pages bear tiny reminders of their once-printed past. You might catch a “page 11 of 11”, a random line or box, or a string of indecipherable Wingdings. Where these markings exist, they are small, infrequent, and will in no way interfere with your full use of all 48 pages.

#brewskibooks are shipped in, you guessed it, used shipping materials.
